In-services & Trainings
In an effort to provide the best services possible, SCNAC continually offers in-services and training for the professional staff, students, and interns. We strive to use the most up to date nutrition education practic es and resources available. Recent in-services have included topics such as food safety, cultural competency, marketing, effective communication, and nutrition education best practices. Mentoring students is a central focus of SCNAC. A primary component of the mentoring process is the series of introductory training sessions which all students are required to attend, laying the foundation for professional growth.

Conferences & Meetings
SCNAC staff both attend and participate in nutrition and physical activity related conferences. Graduate students are encouraged to present their research and SCNAC regularly share its programs and accomplishments with other similar organizations. Conferences regularly attended include the Childhood Obesity Conference, Network for a Healthy California Conference, California Dietetic Association Annual Meeting, and more.
